Laura gets burned online after her Wimbledon jibe

LAURA Whitmore has been criticised by fans for mocking a man for his ‘sunburn’ on her Instagram page. The presenter, 33, pictured, came under fire from her followers after uploading a snap of herself at Wimbledon, in which she denigrated her own appearance, while also commenting on a fellow spectator’s complexion.

She wrote: ‘Nothing better than a flattering pic whilst watching centre court Wimbledon. #ChinsRUs But what we’ve all learned kids, unlike the man behind me is... wear sunscreen.’

The TV host was soon criticised by her Instagram followers for her comments, with one fan writing: ‘A bit of a mean comment about the man behind you – that could easily be his natural complexion.’ Other fans speculated that the man could have health issues, writing ‘The poor chap could have high blood pressure’, while another added ‘or rosacea’. Another wrote: ‘Such a mean way to make your point.’ The Bray native hit back, writing: ‘He’s got the shape of sunglasses on his face. And always good to remind everyone the importance of suncream... and double chins.’ She later replied to another follower: ‘No negativity intended.’ A representative for Laura was contacted for comment, but had not responded at the time of going to print.
