Friend of John Gilligan told of threat to life
A CLOSE associate of gang boss John Gilligan and major target of the Criminal Assets Bureau has been formally warned his life is under threat and is now driving around in a bulletproof ex-RUC 4x4, the Irish Daily Mail can reveal.
Troy Jordan, 44, who previously ran a debt collection agency with Martin ‘The Viper’ Foley, lives in Co. Kildare.
Senior sources have told the Mail that gardaí formally warned Jordan that there was credible information his life was under direct threat. At his home in recent weeks, he was served with a Garda Information Message, known as a GIM form, in which officers give formal notice that they are aware of a possible threat on a target’s life or safety.
A senior source said: ‘He is currently driving around in a white, ex-RUC bulletproof Land Rover.’
Jordan is well-known to gardaí. CAB previously won a tax judgment against him for €800,000.
