Brendan Gleeson and sons Domhnall and Brian

HE’S one of Ireland’s leading actors and so far Brendan Gleeson has two sons in the business. Domhnall, 35, has already made huge marks on Hollywood, starring in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Goodbye Christopher Robin to name but a few. Brian, 30, has just landed a role in Hellboy following many notable performances on the big and small screen, including Love/Hate and The Stag. ‘I didn’t try to stop them but I didn’t try to push them into it either,’ Brendan said of them following in his footsteps. ‘It has to be a personal choice. It has to be something coming from within.’ F have starred together on stage in The Walworth Farce and in Brendan’s directorial debut, short film Psychic, which was written by another son Rory, with music by yet another son, Fergus. For his part, Domhnall gets nervous showing his films to his father. ‘His opinion means a lot me as an actor and as my dad,’ he has said.
