THE inside story behind last year’s cyber attack that temporarily shut down the NHS is a cautionary tale about the vulnerability of technology. Kevin Fong reports on the ransomware attack. During the strike, X-ray machines and even CT scanners were infected by the WannaCry virus, which locked all data and encrypted it. The only way to unscramble the files was to pay a ransom.
