THE new Dublin edition of Monopoly, with its focus on city landmarks rather than streets, is simply silly.

For where’s the sense in buying Dublin Zoo, or the Phoenix Park, even if the Park has now been propelled up the board in terms of property values in the wake of the visit of Pope Francis? And as for building houses or hotels on the Ha’penny Bridge – have the creators of this new board game ever set foot in Dublin?
