May faces crisis as minister quits

BRITISH prime minister Theresa May was under severe pressure last night following the shock resignation of one of her ministers.

Sports minister Tracey Crouch quit in a dispute over the failure to regulate betting machines. Her resignation threatens to trigger a full-blown crisis for the prime minister, whose Brexiteer critics within the Conservative Party seized the chance to pile on pressure. Ms Crouch was praised by former ministers Boris Johnson and Priti Patel, both leading Brexiteers.
