Ariana has last laugh with Thank You, Next
IT’S been a rollercoaster year for Ariana Grande. But on Saturday night, she gave a masterclass in how to bounce back after a break-up when she released a new single just as her ex’s hit TV show was about to air. Ariana, 25, had a whirlwind romance with Saturday Night Live funnyman Pete Davidson, both pictured. They reportedly started dating in May of this year, and got engaged a month later. However, the pair broke up in October, a month after Ariana’s former partner Mac Miller died. A source said that although Ariana’s new song, Thank You, Next, namechecks the comedian, it is ‘not a diss track’. Instead, the ballad reflects ‘what she’s been through in her relationships and other experiences’. But the source said Ariana had felt ‘betrayed’ by remarks Davidson made about failed relationships.
