CRYSTAL OCEAN

JOCKEYS really are a different breed when it comes to bravery and downright toughness.

George Baker is a typical example of someone who knows a thing or two about overcoming the odds.

I mean, how many six-foot jockeys do you know?

Baker won the St Leger on Harbour Law last year but a crashing fall in Switzerland in February changed his life and possibly ended his career.

Suffering from bleeding on the brain, the 35-year-old had to be taught how to walk again and still has no memory of the incident.

The recovery has been slow and steady with Baker still harbouring dreams of racing professionally again.

The odds are against him in returning to the sport he loves — but do NOT back against him.
