Home­own­ers fac­ing risk of ‘rat in­va­sion’

HOME­OWN­ERS are fac­ing a rat in­va­sion as the colder weather ap­proaches, pest con­trol ex­perts claim. Ren­tokil is ad­vis­ing house­hold­ers to be vig­i­lant against ver­min. The firm’s Dr Colm Moore added: “Rats of­ten en­ter premises in search of shel­ter and food. “Once they find th­ese they have the po­ten­tial to in­crease num­bers rapidly. “It’s al­most in­evitable some ro­dents may find their way in­side a build­ing. “It’s best to ini­ti­ate pest con­trol at the ear­li­est stage pos­si­ble: ex­ter­nally, be­fore ro­dents have a chance to put busi­nesses at risk. “Know­ing you have a rat prob­lem can be dis­tress­ing, so do ev­ery­thing you can to avoid the sit­u­a­tion in the first place.”
