VICTIMS of trafficking are being failed by gaps in Ireland’s approach, a new report claims. The Immigrant Country of Ireland report highlighted concerns ahead of their EU Anti-trafficking Day on Tuesday. Chief Brian Killoran said: “Today’s report examined experiences of trafficking victims claiming asylum alongside State policies. “The outcomes are clear – we are failing to meet their needs. “For example they should not languish in direct provision while waiting for identification, as it is only then they can access the supports to which they are entitled.”
