Flana­gan in talks on close ties with UK

MIN­IS­TER for Jus­tice Char­lie Flana­gan at­tended a meet­ing about crime, se­cu­rity and im­mi­gra­tion is­sues in Lon­don yes­ter­day. Also at the meet­ing were UK Home Sec­re­tary Am­ber Rudd, Jus­tice Sec­re­tary David Lid­ing­ton and North­ern Ire­land Sec­re­tary James Bro­ken­shire. They dis­cussed the on­go­ing close co-op­er­a­tion between Ire­land and the UK on crim­i­nal and civil jus­tice and im­mi­gra­tion and se­cu­rity is­sues. Mr Flana­gan said: “We all also reaf­firmed our com­mit­ment to the Com­mon Travel Area. “We dis­cussed its great im­por­tance to the peo­ple of Ire­land and the UK and I em­pha­sised how vi­tal it is in the con­text of North­ern Ire­land.”
