GAL GADOT and Amber Heard were top of the league for glamour at the LA premiere of their new movie

The actresses – who play superheroes Wonder Woman and Mera in Justice League – looked stunning on the opening night, where they were joined by co-stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavilll, Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa.

The pair joined forces on the red carpet and posed for photos before getting a first look at Zack Snyder’s eagerly-awaited new film. A LOCAL authority is flying dancers and singers to China on a trip that could cost taxpayers at least €17,000.

Wicklow county council is sending a group of six traditional musicians and five officials to promote the region in Asia.

The council confirmed the party will fly out this week to take part in the Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival.

But there is confusion as to how much the trip will cost taxpayers.

The council claims some of the cash is being donated by unnamed “sponsors”.

A spokesman said: “The total cost in relation to Wicklow county council members, officials and co-ordinator/translator – including travel, accommodation and expenses – is €9,373.

“As explained, the cost has been kept to a minimum as Hainan Province are covering accommodation, meals and travel for the group when on Hainan Island. The total cost in relation to the musicians is €7,590. However, sponsorship and a contribution from Wicklow County Tourism will be offset against this cost. We don’t have a final account on that as yet.

“The total number of individuals travelling as part of the official delegation is 11: the cathaoirleach, the leas cathaoirleach, an official from the council’s Economic Development Unit, the co-ordinator/ translator, the Wicklow County Tourism Business Development Executive and six musicians.”

Council cathaoirleach – or chairman – Edward Timmins, said the invitation could not have come at a better time.

He added: “Visitor numbers from China to Ireland are rapidly increasing and set to rise further in 2018 when Cathay Pacific operate direct flights from Hong Kong to Dublin in June and it is anticipated Hainan Airlines will operate flights from Beijing to Dublin within the year also.”
