TD slams poor broadband in rural schools
A TD has claimed children in rural schools are missing out because of poor broadband services.
Fianna Fail’s Thomas Byrne urged Education Minister Richard Bruton, to highlight the issue of access in the Dail.
He said: “There is a growing digital divide in schools right across the country.
“Government hasn’t taken this problem seriously in recent years and the result is many schools that fall outside high-speed broadband areas are left with substandard services.
“It means many students in rural districts are losing out on learning opportunities. Meanwhile, their peers in towns and urban centres are enjoying speedy access to modern.” Woman posted bill on social media yesterday
