Call to tackle rising rents

FOCUS Ireland has called for urgent action to tackle soaring rents across the country.

A new report shows rents have shot up to an all-time record of €1,227 a month. The charity warned Government measures designed to address the crisis has had very limited impact so far.

Spokesman Mike Allen said: “The fact that Dublin rents are now almost €380 a month higher than their previous peak in 2008 is deeply troubling.”
