Fresh wintry blast on way

THE wintry weather isn’t over yet as more freezing temperatur­es and snow have been forecast.

A Status Yellow alert has been forecast for all of Leinster and is in place until 10am today.

A Met Eireann spokesman said: “Deep lying snow in places will continue to thaw, with the potential for localised flooding.

“Frost and icy conditions will develop overnight. There will be sunny spells and showers and some may fall as hail. Top temperatur­es of 4C to 8C.

“Westerly winds will be light to moderate and gusty on coasts. Overnight will be cloudy in the west with outbreaks of rain and lows of 0C to 3C. Clearer further east with lows of -4C with ice.”
