ally-ho! Glamorous Irish racing enthusiasts will be packing their finery and heading to Chelthenham which kicks off next week.

The Festival opens on March 13 with Champions Day but for many the biggest draw of the week is the Ladies Day competition – known as #Colourmemarch.

For the last three years in a row an Irish woman has taken home the top prize. Last year Tyrone native Una O’farrell-feeney (inset) stood out from the crowd in a teal dress by Danish designer Malene Birger with Reiss Shoes and vintage gloves.

The event was judged by former model Roz Purcell, who is wellknown for her fashion-forward style, and turned heads in a revamp of the traditional racing attire.

She wore a deep pink asymmetric jumpsuit by Irish-turkish designer Umit Kutluk, complete with draping detail. The ex-miss Universe Ireland finished off her unique look with a statement headpiece by milliner Suzanne Ryan.

The suit is queen for spring summer 2018, make sure your look is first out of the gate with Coast’s stunning Rio twopiece.

If you’re feeling colour brave then take inspiration from actress Emily Ratajkowski who recently tied the knot in a mustard pantsuit from and a widebrim black hat with a mini-mesh veil. The statement-making suit is from Zara and costs under €130 (the flared trousers and robe jacket are sold separately).

Officially there is no dress code at Cheltenham but The Festival takes place in March and that means weather can impact the outfit choices of visitors.

Royal Cheltenham regulars include Kate Middleton and Zara Tindall who are often snapped wrapped up for the occasion in tweed tailoring, faux fur wraps and warm leather boots.

We love Vero Moda long coat with fur colour, a steal at just €124.32.

Dressing for the races doesn’t have to cost a fortune, jazz up a coat with a headpiece or hat. There are plenty available on the high street for all budgets.
