Tina defends sharing ‘pic of Venables’
SHAMELESS star Tina Malone has reportedly said she did not know she was committing an offence when she retweeted what she thought was a picture of child killer Jon Venables.
Anyone posting or sharing photos of Venables or Robert Thompson taken after they were jailed in 1993 for killing James Bulger risks up to two years’ jail or an unlimited fine for contempt of court.
Malone, 55, is said to have retweeted a picture supposedly revealing the new identity of Venables, 35, jailed for 40 months last month for possessing indecent child images.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I didn’t have a clue it was illegal. Are you going to prosecute me for posting a picture? I’m not au fait with the law.”
