Pulis not cash crazy

- BY JAMES NURSEY

TONY PULIS has promised not to waste Steve Gibson’s money at Middlesbrough after missing out on promotion.

Pulis was brought in as boss in December when Garry Monk was sacked with relegated Boro off the pace – despite spending £50million.

Now boss Pulis has pledged to rebuild after Boro lost to Aston Villa in the play-off semi-final.

He said: “The next task ahead is to see if we can improve it. I know what we need, I know what is necessary.

“I think Steve has spent an absolute fortune, so I won’t waste his money.

“The players have shown over the course of a season they are close.”
