Duo jailed for online poison Elsa doll sales
The Elsa dolls A COUPLE who sold toxic fake Elsa dolls from Disney film Frozen online were each jailed for 10 months.
The level of phthalates in the toys sold by Lee Scully, 38, and Tracy Cockbill, 40, was 2,000 times the permitted level.
The chemical, used to make plastics flexible, is linked to cancer, birth defects and asthma.
The couple also sold Android TV streaming boxes that had potentially deadly chargers.
Scully and Cockbill, then of Walsall, West Mids, now in Prestatyn, North Wales, admitted copyright, trademark and safety offences.
The Wolverhampton crown court judge said: “You abused the trust of customers whilst making many thousands of pounds for yourselves.”
