Revel in weepfest
THIS IS US
MORE4, 9pm
WITH more emotional family drama than Christmas in Albert Square, this American show had us weeping into our snacks for the entire first series.
Now it’s back for a second run and you’ll need to steel yourself for more sobbing, heartache, joy and laughter.
Yes, this is about as schmaltzy as a drama can get. Picking up as the Big Three celebrate their 37th birthdays, they have each got different things on their minds.
Kate (Chrissy Metz) decides to pursue her passion of singing, but must brave the terror of the audition room and a queue of skinny girls.
Randall (Sterling K Brown) is debating a huge life change, but Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) is not really on board.
And Kevin (Justin Hartley) is balancing the demands of his career and a longdistance relationship with his new girlfriend Sophie.
Meanwhile, back in the 1980s, Jack and
Rebecca (Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore) must deal with the fallout from their big fight – and tell the kids, who are now teenagers, that Jack has moved out.
There are so many flashbacks that you will need to pay close attention, but each time we revisit the past we find out a little more.
Jack makes a big confession to Rebecca, while back in the present day, Rebecca also makes a confession to adopted son Randall.
And just to add more anguish, the whole episode is narrated by Randall’s biological father, who died in the last series...
