Killers still springing from tunnels to attack
JIHADISTS hell-bent on slaughter are still hiding in Mosul, ready to pounce.
An IS fighter emerged from a concealed tunnel close to a hospital north of the old city two weeks ago and fired a gun at people. Security returned fire, and no one was injured, but the attacker fled.
IS developed a network of tunnels beneath the streets before Mosul was liberated.
A source said: “We have tens of ISIS arrests every week. They are coming out of the tunnels in the market, the neighbourhoods, almost daily.
“It’s a fear there will be an uprising. We don’t know how many ISIS there are.”
