TURN JEERS TO CHEERS SAYS BOSS ROWETT

-

GARY ROWETT has warned his Stoke players they must earn the right to win over frustrated fans.

The Potters, 17th in the table, face Blackburn aiming for back-to-back wins after beating Swansea 1-0 in midweek.

But victory only came after supporters voiced their disapproval in the first half.

Boss Rowett (above) said: “The players came in at half-time and were a bit frustrated because obviously the fans weren’t completely happy with certain things, which is fine, I understand it.

“What every player wants, of course, is being applauded off by their own fans for the hard work, endeavour and skill they’ve shown.

“We might have to earn that over time rather than expect that short-term because I don’t think that’s fair on the fans to expect that.”
