93% call for homes crisis to get sorted

AROUND 93% of people believe the Government should be doing more to address the housing crisis, a study has found.

More than 60% of people expect prices to rise by 5% or more in the next 12 months, the Myhome.ie Consumer Sentiment Survey 2018 revealed.

Around 40% said they expected to buy a new property in the next year or so and 26% saying they had no plans to move.

Myhome.ie boss Angela Keegan said: “72% of first time buyers said the biggest challenge they faced was finding the right property, while 17% said it was meeting the required deposit for a new home.”
