SNOOKER king Mike Watterson was set for an amazing comeback as chairman of crisis-torn Derby County.

His return to the Baseball Ground was going to force the shock departure of Peter Taylor, picked as manager when Watterson first took over a year earlier. And Taylor was set to be followed out the door by team boss Roy Mcfarland and coach Mick Jones – the pair Watterson poached from Bradford.
