Stylist met new pals with fitness regime
DANCING With The Stars’ Darren Kennedy has told how he started sculpting his six-pack in the gym as a way to meet friends.
The presenter and stylist, 35, proudly showed off the results of his fitness regime on the hit RTE show, with an open shirt to display his killer abs.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror following his exit from the series on Sunday, Darren, said: “Since I started working for myself 15 years ago I immediately felt it very isolating. So I said, ‘I need to build structure into this otherwise I’ll go stir crazy’.
“Part of that was going to the gym a couple of days a week. It’s a reason to get out of the house, you meet people.”
But the Dublin star, who has his own business Kennedy & Co Grooming Range, told how he hasn’t been to the gym lately as gruelling dance rehearsals took over.

He added: “We just didn’t have the time and you were conserving energy for dancing. I couldn’t get enough calories into me. I was struggling to maintain the weight I am.”
Despite a sizzling salsa performance, Darren and his professional dance partner Karen Byrne, became the third celebrity couple to be booted off the show. Commenting on his exit, one fan tweeted this week: “Very sad won’t get to see Darren Kennedy’s sexy abs on Dancing With The Stars next week.”
Following one of his performances, another fan said: “Darren looks like Malibu Ken with those abs.”
