Sala search ace: I’d help pilot’s family
Sala & Ibbotson THE marine expert who found footballer Emiliano Sala’s body has offered to aid the family of missing pilot David Ibbotson.
David Mearns located the plane that crashed in the Channel with the Cardiff City star aboard.
He said: “I came to the aid of the Sala family on a voluntary basis.
“If the Ibbotson family came to us I would treat them in exactly the same way and see what we could do. I have not had contact with the Ibbotson family.”
The plane was flying to Cardiff from Nantes in France, the home of Sala’s last club, on January 21.
Sala’s family yesterday appealed for the body of Mr Ibbotson, 60, to be found. His family were unavailable for comment.
