ith Valentine’s Day falling on a Thursday this year, we might be tempted to take our loved ones out to a restaurant, rather than celebrating with something special at home – but nothing says “I love you” more than a home-cooked meal.

With this menu there’s very little prep and no long cooking times, so you’re not tied to the kitchen all night either. Start with the chocolate pots the night before if you want to get ahead, or make those first thing, and leave to chill while you prepare the starter and main.

Once you’ve grilled the cheesy toasts, preheat the oven for the fries, and the main course will be ready in no time.

Sweet potato fries take less time to cook than normal fries – great for a midweek treat.
