FOX NOT SNARED JUST YET
NFL DIVISION 2
Tipperary v Donegal
Clare v Cork
Meath
Tomorrow, Semple Stadium, 2pm
TIPPERARY’S Brian Fox doesn’t quite declare tomorrow’s visit of Donegal to Thurles as a must-win game, but knows it’s not far off it.
Having narrowly failed to win promotion from Division Two last year, dropping three points in their opening two games has diminished their margin of error.
“There have been four draws in eight matches so far, it’s probably a more competitive division than last year,” says Fox.
“If Donegal win they are sitting on six points and we’d be on one, it’s a big gap there already.
“But we can’t look at it like that, you just want to get points wherever you can. They have four points but they haven’t been, as they’ve probably said themselves, hugely impressive.
“Meath could have beaten them so that kind of shows there is very little between any team in the division so we’ll be going out to try and beat them, next thing we are on three points.”
Tomorrow, Cusack Park, 2pm
IT’S a measure of how the hierarchy in Munster has become so much more fluid below Kerry in recent years that a win for Clare in this fixture wouldn’t be remotely surprising.
Indeed, it would mark the third successive year that the Banner have beaten Cork in the League. How they’d love a shot at them in the Championship at this stage.
David Tubridy hit a late goal to secure what could yet be a vital draw for Clare against Armagh last week and they look set to condemn Cork to another defeat in Ennis.
