I want to get own radio gig a Lottie

-

LOTTIE Ryan said she is still fighting to bag her own radio show – but revealed she’ll never stray from RTE for a gig.

The star, who has been with the broadcaster for a decade, has been upfront about longing for a break of her own on the airwaves.

And following her Dancing With The Stars win earlier this year, the entertainment host feels now is the time to put those wheels in motion on radio and TV.

Lottie said: “Without a doubt, I’ve been pretty vocal about it in the past.

“I want my own show, so I’m absolutely pushing for it and hopefully something will happen.

“I’m definitely going to open my horizons into television as well because I really enjoyed all aspects of Dancing With The Stars and the live element of it.

“And they are such a fantastic crew and team to work with you can’t but feel like, Jesus, this is the kind of environment I’d like to work in as well.

“So I definitely am looking into TV and I categorically want my own radio show soon.”

The 2fm star added she would love to do a documentary and has been putting down a few ideas on paper.

She said: “But I’d be totally open. Like anything really, but I’d love to do some live TV.

“I know there is some stuff being commissioned now and round coming in before autumn so I’m just going to keep my eyes peeled.”

And despite her 10-year wait for a chance at her own gig, Lottie added she will be staying put with the national broadcaster until she gets what she wants. The Dubliner said: “I’m happy here, I feel like this is my home and they have been very supportive of my career and I’ve learned so much from the people I work with.

“It’s a very familyorientated place.”

Lottie, who found her true passion when taking part in the RTE dance competition, also told of her plans to take to the stage when theatres reopen.

She said: “Obviously, when dancing finished my main goal was to keep dancing but that involved theatre work which is just unfortunately not happening at the moment.

“So I was a bit heartbroken with that but theatres will eventually open.

“I just felt like that’s what it felt like to be alive. For me it was one of those ‘holy f**k’ moments. I want to do this.”
