Coun­cil put­ting €35,000 into clean­ing Ban­don and Kin­sale

An ex­tra €35,000 is to be put into ‘beau­ti­fy­ing’ Ban­don and Kin­sale by the county coun­cil.

De­tails of the two scheme were pre­sented by coun­cil of­fi­cials to the mu­nic­i­pal dis­trict coun­cil. A to­tal of €20,000 is to be spent in Ban­don, to aid im­prove­ments to the Mac­room road ap­proach, as well as ex­tra weed-spray­ing in a num­ber of places, along with in­creased use of me­chan­i­cal road sweep­ers, cut­ting of verges, and sign and foot­path clean­ing.

Lit­ter-pick­ing will be car­ried out on ap­proach roads, es­pe­cially be­tween In­nis­han­non and Ban­don. In Kin­sale, the €15,000 will go on sign and foot­path clean­ing, ex­tra weed spray­ing and fur­ther use of me­chan­i­cal road sweep­ers.
