Masters of Tra­di­tion brings in top tal­ent

Next week West Cork comes alive to the sounds of the best in tra­di­tional mu­sic as the Masters of Tra­di­tion fes­ti­val takes place in Bantry.

Ir­ish Tra­di­tional mu­sic in its purest form will be cel­e­brated from to­mor­row week, Au­gust 23, un­til the fol­low­ing Sun­day.

In­ter­na­tion­ally renowned fid­dler and artis­tic di­rec­tor of the five-day fes­ti­val, Martin Hayes will be joined by the tal­ents of Dennis Cahill, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Caoimhín Ó Raghal­laigh and Mícheál Ó Súil­leab­háin as well as Colin Dunne, Steve Cooney, Cathal Hay­den, Seamie O’Dowd, Stephen Hay­den, Len Gra­ham, Jack Lynch, Kate El­lis, John Carty, Mary MacNa­mara, Sor­cha Costello, Slow Mov­ing Clouds, Mick O’Brien, and Neil Ó Lo­clainn’s Cuar.

Per­for­mances take place in the mag­nif­i­cent set­ting of Bantry House and an­other of the town’s spe­cial venues, St Bren­dan’s Church in the Square.

The Masters of Tra­di­tion event will draw to a close with a spe­cial con­cert with Martin Hayes on fid­dle, Dennis Cahill on guitar, and many spe­cial guests, on the Sun­day again at Bantry

House.
