Mairead and David get snap happy on their special day
Photographer Ian Cronin was like one of the family when he arrived to capture Mairead Guiney and David Noonan’s big day on camera. This was the fourth time Ian had covered a wedding from the Guiney household.
Mairead, from Freemount, and David, from Aughrim, Dromina, were married in St Michael’s Church, Freemount, by family friend Fr John Campion.
The newlyweds crossed the Cork-Kerry border for their reception, at Muckross Park Hotel in Killarney.
Mairead’s sisters Catriona Collins and Siobhan Moran and sister-in-law Emma Guiney were her bridesmaids.
David’s friend David O’Sullivan was best man and his brothers-in-law Colin Ryan and Mark Kelleher were groomsmen.
The groom’s nieces Kate Ellen Ryan and Josephine Kelleher were flower girls and the bride’s nephews Ryan and Jamie Collins and Matthew Moran and the groom’s nephew Joe Ryan were page boys.
Mairead and David have known one another for most of their lives and started dating four years ago.
He popped the question last November in Carton House Hotel in Co Kildare and the couple described their wedding as “the most special day either of us could have ever imagined”.
David’s aunt Sr Agnes Noonan decorated the church and the groom’s sister Elmarie Kelleher was the main soloist. Also singing were two close friends of the bride, Siobhan Fitzgerald and Caitriona McNamara.
The bride’s parents offered light refreshments in the local heritage centre before all travelled on to Muckross Park Hotel.
“The photo-shoot in the grounds of Muckross Park Hotel was one of our top highlights. It was so much fun working with the consummate professionals, Ian and Riona, whose vibrant personalities made this experience such great fun and very relaxing,” said the bride, who sourced her dress in Say I Do in Midleton, Co Cork. “It is a memory we will always treasure.”
Wedding band White Diamond ensured the dancing shoes were put to good use.
The newlyweds travelled to Sorrento in Italy for a week, which was followed by a week-long Mediterranean cruise.
Mairead is a secondary school teacher in Scoil Mhuire Secondary School in Kanturk and David is a farmer.
They will reside in Fornaught, Donoughmore.
