WEDDING bells rang out for Sheila Murphy and Jamie Good recently. The couple, who are both from Cork city, were wed in a humanist ceremony led by Bill Chase in The Maritime Hotel in Bantry where they also held their reception.

Photographer Micheal O’Sullivan captured the big day on camera including a photo-shoot in Bantry House and Gardens.

The bride’s sister Caroline Murphy was chief bridesmaid while the groom’s friend Barry Finnegan was best man.

Sheila and Jamie met through mutual friends in Cork nearly a decade ago and got engaged in Cork in October 2013.

“Our big day was fantastic. Jamie had wanted an outdoor ceremony from the day we booked Bantry House but I wasn’t sure it would work given the Irish weather. He was right, though, the weather was amazing and we had a beautiful outdoor ceremony,” said Sheila.

“It was very romantic. As the weather was so good guests could explore the gardens during the drinks reception. The Maritime catered the drinks reception as well as hosting the rest of the reception and everything was exactly as we’d requested. Everyone seemed to enjoy every part of the day. We were very happy with everything.”

The bridal hair and make-up were done at The Maritime by The Upstylist and make-up artist Linda Collins. “Linda was a lifesaver on the morning, jumping in to help with flowers and dresses when the make-up was all perfectly finished,” said Sheila.

The bride looked picture-perfect in a dress and shoes bought in Bella Bleu in Cork City while the groom and his party were dapper in suits by Tom Murphy’s, Cork City.

The couple’s friend Eddie O’Connor, head pastry chef at Hayfield Manor Hotel, created the delectable wedding cake as his wedding gift.

The bride has just finished a Higher Diploma in CIT and the groom currently works in Norway.

The newlyweds, who reside in Cork, honeymooned in Crete.
