Fota twilight walk raises over €11k for children’s ambulance.
A twilight walk held in Fota Wildlife Park has aided the children’s ambulance charity, BUMBLEance.
The park’s director Sean McKeown has, in recent days, presented a cheque for €11,422.30 to the chair of BUMBLEance’s Cork Committee, Scott MacKeown.
The proceeds were raised from the twilight walk through the iconic park.
At the presentation of the cheque, Mr McKeown said: “We were delighted to be able to reopen our gates on the evening of July 27 to aid the walk.
“It proved to be a very special and magical evening here in the park, and was staffed by volunteers who gave their time up freely on the night. Their efforts meant we could donate all the monies raised to this wonderful children’s charity.”
On behalf of the Cork Committee of BUMBLEance, Scott MacKeown said the charity was extremely grateful to Fota Wildlife Park.
“The event was a phenomenal success with over 1,500 people taking part in this very special evening event.
“We would like to express our warmest thanks to all our amazing supporters and volunteers, as well as the team and staff at Fota Wildlife Park, who so kindly gave up their time.”
