Five Cork lo­ca­tions in Pride of Place

Mayor of Cork County, Cllr De­clan Hurley, wished good luck to five lo­ca­tions se­lected for the coun­try­wide 2017 IPB Pride of Place Com­pe­ti­tion, in as­so­ci­a­tion with Co-Op­er­a­tion Ire­land.

Judges, over three days, vis­ited Clon­akilty, Whiddy Is­land, Car­rigt­wohill, Bal­ly­ma­coda/Ladys­bridge and Mitchel­stown, which were se­lected in dif­fer­ent pop­u­la­tion cat­e­gories. The mayor, who vis­ited all the lo­ca­tions dur­ing the judg­ing pre­sen­ta­tions, said: “As al­ways, Cork County Coun­cil is very proud to sup­port our lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties.

“Each of the nom­i­nees showed great com­mit­ment to their re­spec­tive com­mu­ni­ties. I would like to wish them all the very best of luck from my­self and from the peo­ple of Cork.” The com­pe­ti­tion ac­knowl­edges the great work done by com­mu­ni­ties na­tion­wide.
