Five Cork locations in Pride of Place
Mayor of Cork County, Cllr Declan Hurley, wished good luck to five locations selected for the countrywide 2017 IPB Pride of Place Competition, in association with Co-Operation Ireland.
Judges, over three days, visited Clonakilty, Whiddy Island, Carrigtwohill, Ballymacoda/Ladysbridge and Mitchelstown, which were selected in different population categories. The mayor, who visited all the locations during the judging presentations, said: “As always, Cork County Council is very proud to support our local communities.
“Each of the nominees showed great commitment to their respective communities. I would like to wish them all the very best of luck from myself and from the people of Cork.” The competition acknowledges the great work done by communities nationwide.
