Fab­u­lous ‘girls only’ week­end to aid the Irish Cancer So­ci­ety

Each year, the fam­i­ly­owned Celtic Ross Ho­tel in Ross­car­bery or­gan­ises and hosts the one and only Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Week­end to ben­e­fit the Irish Cancer So­ci­ety and sup­port the fight against breast cancer.

Now in its 10th year, this ex­cep­tional event takes place from Oc­to­ber 6 to 8. Since its in­cep­tion, the week­end has gone from strength to strength and has raised over €81,000.

Hosted in a set­ting over­look­ing beau­ti­ful Ross­car­bery Bay on the Wild At­lantic Way, the week­end is a time to chill and un­wind with lots of fun, re­lax­ation, and pam­per­ing, while at the same time fundrais­ing for a char­ity close to many peo­ple’s hearts.

Breast cancer is the most com­mon form of cancer in women in Ire­land af­ter non­melanoma skin cancer.

Women aged 18 to 80 de­scend on Ross­car­bery to­gether with their friends to re­mem­ber some­one they have lost or they come with their sis­ters and mums to cel­e­brate get­ting through cancer and sur­viv­ing.

Through­out the week­end, the need for cancer aware­ness is high­lighted as well as look­ing af­ter your health.

The week­end is jam-packed full of ac­tiv­i­ties and the women can do as much or as lit­tle as they like, from aqua aer­o­bics to re­lax­ing mas­sages, make-up mas­ter­classes to wine and cheese tast­ing, pi­lates to long walks on the nearby strands.

Other plans for the week­end in­clude car­i­ca­ture paint­ing, danc­ing, mind­ful­ness, feed your skin, hair and beauty, nail bar, yoga, bingo, trea­sure hunts, stand up pad­dling, ad­ven­ture golf, and more.

There is a spe­cial ‘Look Good Feel Great’ fash­ion event with ex­pert stylist Joan Cashman who has over two decades of ex­pe­ri­ence from through­out Europe.

Sat­ur­day night brings out the style with a cham­pagne re­cep­tion and a Best Dressed “Pink” Ladies com­pe­ti­tion spon­sored by Keanes Jew­ellers. Head chef Alex Petit will show­case the finest of West Cork pro­duce dur­ing a five­course sump­tu­ous ban­quet

The week­end, in aid of the Irish Cancer So­ci­ety, is €195 per per­son shar­ing in­clud­ing two nights B&B, cham­pagne ban­quet on the Sat­ur­day night, a mini fa­cial or mas­sage and all the ac­tiv­i­ties dur­ing the week­end.
