Wedding of the Week
Dawn and Ryan celebrate their beautiful day
APROPOSAL in France led to wedding bells in Kinsale for Dawn Nolan and Ryan McVeigh. The couple first met when Ryan was working for the Methodist Church in Douglas as a youth worker.
“Ryan proposed to me when we visited the chateau in Lunéville, France, during the year I was working as primary school language assistant in Nancy, France,” said the bride.
Dawn, from Carrigaline, and Ryan, from Newtownards, Co Down, exchanged vows recently in Kinsale Methodist Church in a ceremony held by Fr Charlie Nyhan assisted by Reverend Bill Mullally, and held their reception in The Trident Hotel, Kinsale
Their photographer, Agnes Stodolny, Bracket Studio, captured the big day on camera, including a photo-shoot at scenic Charles Fort. Dawn’s parents Estelle and Kevin Nolan and Ryan’s father Eddy McVeigh, along with Dawn’s grandfather Simon Morgan and Ryan’s grandmother Margaret McVeigh, helped the newlyweds celebrate.
The bride also visited her grandfather, Joseph Nolan, before the ceremony.
Taking on bridesmaid duties were Jodie Nolan (Dawn’s sister) and Amy Mahood (Ryan’s cousin).
Lending their support as best man and groomsman, respectively, were Ryan’s friends Ryan McMillan and Michael Creaney.
“Our wedding day was spectacular. The ceremony was beautiful, especially the singing of the hymns by all of our guests,” said Dawn.
Urban Hair Design in Carrigaline took care of the bridal hairstyling and makeup. The mother-of-the-bride, Estelle, created the bouquets and decorated the church.
“Other aspects that made our day so special were the location of our wedding (the scenic harbour town of Kinsale), our band White Satin (they had everyone dancing their socks off and their music catered to our guests of all ages), how seamless the service of the hotel was and having so many family and friends who had travelled from far and near present to celebrate our special day with us,” said Dawn. The bride and groom honeymooned in Bath and Bristol.
The newlyweds reside in Newtownards, Co Down.
