Wedding of the Week
It all adds up for Aisling and Dan on their special day
New York formed a magically festive backdrop to the engagement of Douglas-based Aisling Darmody and Dan O’Sullivan. Dan popped the question at the Rockefeller Centre in December 2015, six years after the couple first met.
Both accountants, their paths crossed, literally, at the doorstep of Moriarty & Murphy Chartered Certified Accountants, Killarney, Co Kerry, where they worked together in August 2008.
The bride, from Faha, Killarney, and groom, from Fossa, Killarney, were wed in the Prince of Peace Church in Fossa, by Fr Kevin Sullivan and held their reception in Ballyseede Castle, Tralee.
Helping lead the celebrations were Aisling’s parents, Kay and Tony Darmody, and Dan’s mother and father Joan and Kevin O’Sullivan.
Aisling’s sister, Karen Darmody, was chief bridesmaid, with her friend, Hayley O’Keeffe, as bridesmaid; while Dan’s brothers, Kevin and Derry O’Sullivan, were best man and groomsman.
The bride’s niece, Kate Darmody, and godson, David Darmody, enjoyed taking on key roles as flower girl and pageboy.
The bridal hairstyling was by Pat O’Neill, with makeup by Marilyn McSweeney.
Ian Cronin of IC Photo Studio captured the big day on camera while Sky Eye Drone was the videographer.
The newlyweds started their honeymoon in Las Vegas before embarking on a Caribbean cruise and finished the holiday at Orlando, Florida.
The bride is a tax analyst with Johnson & Johnson, and the groom is a business unit finance controller at Eli Lilly.
