Long and Cuffe win best bowler titles

Irish Examiner - Farming - - MACRA -

Last week marked the end of Glanmire Macra’s six-week summer bowling league. Zara Long won best female bowler and Tomás Cuffe was best male bowler. Members got plenty of practise in and are feeling confident ahead of tomorrow night’s Seandún regional competition.

The league wasn’t just about the competition of course, it was a great way for members to socialise and celebrate the start of a new Macra year. A spokesperson for the club said: “Last year was a great year for us due to our success in many competitions, not to mention our success in gaining the title of national prize winners in both volleyball and farm skills. We hope to continue our successful streak and make this year another success.”

The club’s sport night got back up on running this week, and will continue every Tuesday at 9pm in Upper Glanmire Hall. It costs €4 and new members play for free on their first night. Anyone interested in joining Glanmire Macra can find the club on Facebook.
