Treble R crowned quiz champions
Treble R Macra from Dublin are the 2017 Kerrygold Club Question Time champions. The Dublin team held off Termonfeckin Macra from Louth at the ALSAA Sports Arena in Dublin.
Some 26 Macra clubs from all over the country took part in the final.
The winners win a place on the annual Macra na Feirme prizewinners’ trip. Speaking afterwards, Macra na Feirme national president James Healy said: “Well done to all clubs who took part and congratulations to Treble R for a great win.
“Quizzes are as popular as ever in Ireland and the huge turnout here tonight is a testament to that.
“I would also like to thank Kerrygold for their continued sponsorship of this great event.” Meanwhile, Kinsale Macra hosted a club fundraiser on in the Trident Hotel.

There was also a few surprises thrown in such as hungry hippos, charades, Pictionary, ring toss, and arm wrestles for members of the audience. A round of bingo was played for all teams, as well as the audience, and a raffle was also held.
Regional teams Knockraha, UCC, Glanmire, Carrigaline, Seandún and Kinsale went head to head taking on all challenges.
It all came down to a tie breaker between Carrigaline and Seandún of Pass the Polo mint. Carrigaline Macra used their quick wit, knowledge and speed to emerge victorious.
