It’s this connection between farming and tourism that is a key element of West Cork Farm Tours.

Three family-run hotels, the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery, and the Fernhill House Hotel and the Emmet Hotel in Clonakilty, are playing big roles in organising the farm tours. The hotel guests have the opportunity to tour perhaps two farms per day during their stay, either individually by car or as part of a coach group.

The farm tours initiative also ties in with the highly-successful Wild Atlantic Way project, as Marie Healy of Fáilte Ireland explains: “In addition to providing another great enhancement for visitors travelling the Wild Atlantic Way, these farm tours will encourage those who travel along the route to slow down, dwell longer and immerse themselves in the local culture and tradition.
