Crop loss support
Payments have issued to more than one third of the farmers who applied for the crop loss support measure launched in July, 2017, to assist farmers most affected by wet weather harvest conditions in September, 2016. Agriculture Minister Michael Creed said 63 applicants had received payments totalling €288,845.30.
A total of 167 applications were received, but further information or clarification was required in order to fully process under the measure a large number of the applications.
Minister Creed gave the information in the Dail in reply to a question from Cork East Fianna Fáil TD Kevin O’Keeffe.
