Crop loss sup­port

Pay­ments have is­sued to more than one third of the farm­ers who ap­plied for the crop loss sup­port mea­sure launched in July, 2017, to as­sist farm­ers most af­fected by wet weather har­vest con­di­tions in Septem­ber, 2016. Agri­cul­ture Min­is­ter Michael Creed said 63 ap­pli­cants had re­ceived pay­ments to­talling €288,845.30.

A to­tal of 167 ap­pli­ca­tions were re­ceived, but fur­ther in­for­ma­tion or clar­i­fi­ca­tion was re­quired in or­der to fully process un­der the mea­sure a large num­ber of the ap­pli­ca­tions.

Min­is­ter Creed gave the in­for­ma­tion in the Dail in re­ply to a ques­tion from Cork East Fianna Fáil TD Kevin O’Ke­effe.
