Awards for de­signs that work for farm­ers

The Good De­sign Awards are the old­est and most pres­ti­gious global awards pro­gramme for de­sign ex­cel­lence and de­sign in­no­va­tion.

Some of the top farm im­ple­ment man­u­fac­tur­ers fea­ture ev­ery year, show­ing how much trou­ble they go to achieve de­signs that work for farm­ers.

Win­ners in 2017 in­clude the John Deere C441R combi wrap­per round baler, for which John Deere tasked De­sign­works and GBO, to col­lab­o­rate in a com­plete re-de­sign based on a mod­ern round baler fam­ily ap­proach.

The Good De­sign Award also in­cluded the John Deere F441R and F441M solo round balers.

The com­pany’s 9RX rub­ber- tracked trac­tor se­ries also won a de­sign award.

An­other 2017 win­ner is the Case IH Au­ton­o­mous Con­cept Trac­tor, un­veiled in 2016 as the world’s first high horse power, ca­b­less au­ton­o­mous con­cept trac­tor.
