EU food trade fly­ing

Strong growth in the EU’s agri­food trade over the last year has lifted the bloc’s trade sur­plus with the rest of the world to a record level of €21bn, due to ex­ports out­per­form­ing im­ports. Agri­cul­ture Com­mis­sioner Phil Ho­gan was re­cently con­grat­u­lated for “go­ing the ex­tra mile” to boost Euro­pean agri-food ex­ports, in­clud­ing trav­el­ling 55,000 miles in trade mis­sions over two years, by a broad coali­tion of 10 Brus­sels-based agri­food and feed as­so­ci­a­tions.
