Keep child’s bed­room cool. If child be­comes too hot, eczema be­comes in­flamed and itchy, re­sult­ing in night­time scratch­ing.

Avoid syn­thetic du­vets that trap heat and don’t al­low skin to breathe.

Keep soft toys to a min­i­mum – Burke rec­om­mends just two – and wash weekly in 60°C wash. This elim­i­nates dust mite al­ler­gens.

Keep a di­ary and watch out for trig­gers, in­clud­ing food items.
