Nature’s boost

Irish Examiner - Feelgood - - Food -

A powdered green tea developed by a man who used herbs, including green tea, to manage his Crohn’s disease is on sale in Lidl this month as part of the Kick Start programme, an initiative that supports small suppliers. When Corkman Sean McCarthy had his first Crohn’s attack nearly 20 years ago, he worked with a herbalist to tackle the causes. The experience led him to qualify as a herbalist before going on to set up his own business, Naturspharm. He conducted extensive research into green tea and developed his own brand, Naturespharm Green Tea, which is available in Lidl while stocks last €3.99 for 25g. “Sometimes I am in awe of what this wonderful plant can do,” Sean said.
