Tried and tested

JUDGING by the string of tinsel and shiny tree ornaments, the holiday season is well and truly upon us, whether we like it or not. And what’s the best way to beat the winter blues? To sparkle, of course! I tried the new Everlasting Glimmer Veil liquid lipstick from Kat Von D in the colour Satellite this week and I’m in love. The colour collection ranges from the most wanted to the unusual with a headturning finish. And the formula is longlasting, surprisingly, even when kissing. That said, it doesn’t stand up well against curry, so maybe give the Chinese a miss while you’re wearing this one. Available in Debenhams stores for €30.

BEAUTY BULLETIN BROW BEATER:

Natural brows, bushy brows, feather brows — what’s the next trend? Lightning brows of course! Make-up artist Zakia Wahbi shaped her brows into a bolt of lightning, the Boy Who Lived style, and paired them with matching lightning eyeliner to created an unexpectantly wearable look just in time for the Halloween season. SWATCH OUT:

I bet when the new Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye palette came out your social feeds were filled with swatch pics from beauty bloggers. In fact, they probably still are. But make-up artist Menal Khan is swatching in a whole new artic way — she is recreating entire palettes on the back of her hand. Check out more of her incredible work on Instagram: @ikhaniic.

EAU de G&T:

Indie fragrance brand Art de Parfum has gone and turned everyone’s favourite tipple into the scent of the season. Gin and Tonic Cologne mixes notes of lemon, grapefruit peel, juniper berry, and cucumber to give that sharp citrus freshness you would expect from a cool G&T. Base notes of cedarwood, vetiver and white musk, give an earthy ground to the fruity notes. And rest assured you won’t smell like you’ve been in the pub all day.
