THE East Coast Bake­house has just achieved Ori­gin Green mem­ber­ship, join­ing some 280 other Ir­ish food and drink pro­duc­ers who are com­mit­ted to en­vi­ron­men­tal, so­cial and eco­nomic sus­tain­abil­ity. Bake­house co-founder Ali­son Cowzer said that as a new bis­cuit man­u­fac­tur­ing busi­ness, it was com­mit­ted to em­bed­ding sus­tain­abil­ity in ev­ery­thing it did. The bak­ery em­ploys 45 peo­ple and pro­duces a range of bis­cuits us­ing Ir­ish but­ter and Ir­ish oats.
