Each week, two of the country’s top chefs compete to see who can reduce the indulgent elements in their delicious restaurant signature dishes and turn them into the healthy option. In episode one, there’s plenty of healthy competition in the kitchen as TV favourite Gary O’Hanlon (Operation Transformation, The Restaurant) takes on Cork’s finest Kate Lawlor (Fenn’s Quay, Oyster Tavern), pictured. What Are You Eating? RTÉ One, Thursday 19th April, 8.30pm

Ireland is throwing away 1m tonnes of food annually, costing the average Irish household €700 every year. Presenter Philip Boucher-Hayes looks at some of the mistakes people make. What’s Your Emergency? C4, Thursday, April 19, 9pm

In the first episode of a new series, we see how British police respond to the rising use of cannabis, which is now increasingly being smoked openly. This shifting attitude is especially evident among the young. When police catch a group of teenagers smoking joints outside, one unfazed teenage girl responds: ‘I know you think it’s like illegal’ — and when officers tell her that really it’s actually still illegal, she offers in mitigation to ‘next time smoke it indoors’.
