More than 800 lots will come un­der the ham­mer at Kerry Auc­tion Rooms next Tues­day at noon. There is Ge­or­gian, Vic­to­rian and Ed­war­dian fur­ni­ture, porcelian, sil­ver, jewellery and col­lectibles in­clud­ing a se­lec­tion of Ger­man war medals from World Wars One and Two from the Sch­le­icher fam­ily, as well as a 1948 Lon­don Olympics bronze medal. The sale is on view at Moy­der­well, Tralee from 11am to 6pm to­day, 2pm to 6pm Sun, 11am to 8pm on Mon­day and from 9am on Tues­day. A pair of an­tique gilt leg side ta­bles es­ti­mated at € 600-€800 sold in strong bid­ding to an Ir­ish buyer for € 12,500 at RJ Keigh­ery’s sale in Water­ford on Mon­day. A pair of an­tique gilded and painted side ta­bles made € 1,250, an Ed­war­dian long­case clock by Alex Gor­don, Dublin made € 2,200 and a carved Burmese cabi­net made € 720. There will be view­ing at the Fir Grove Ho­tel in Mitchel­stown from 7pm to­day for the Ed­ward Walsh Sales auc­tion of over 300 lots at 2.30pm to­mor­row (Apr 14). Prime lots in­clude a ma­hogany part­ners desk, a pair of Vic­to­rian hall chairs, a Scotch chest, two Ge­or­gian long­case clocks, a Vic­to­rian din­ing ta­ble and a Vic­to­rian mir­ror back side­board. There are clocks, chan­de­liers, a Vic­to­rian roll top desk, art and house­hold contents. View­ing is from 7pm to 9pm to­day (Sat) and from 10am to the start of the auc­tion to­mor­row. The show runs un­til Sept 1. The Euro in the art form of an IOU fea­tures at an ex­hi­bi­tion at the Ir­ish Mu­seum of Mod­ern Art tem­po­rary ex­hi­bi­tion space in Earls­fort Ter­race from next Fri­day. The I knOw yoU ex­hi­bi­tion raises ques­tions about power and eco­nomic dom­i­nance within the bank­ing in­dus­try. It aims at an al­ter­na­tive model of cap­i­tal that ex­plores a new set of re­la­tions be­tween know­ing and ow­ing. The 40 artists tak­ing part have been se­lected from grad­u­ates at the Stadelschule Acad­emy in Frank­furt. In Birr, Co Of­faly Pur­cell auc­tion­eers will have a sale of ru­ral and do­mes­tic by­gones at 10am to­day (Sat) to be fol­lowed by an auc­tion of an­tique fur­ni­ture and col­lectibles at 2pm. A group ex­hi­bi­tion en­ti­tled The Ab­sence of Re­al­ism runs at the Lavit Gallery in Cork from Apr 16 to May 4. It fea­tures work by Ellen Bar­rett, Alan Board­man, Tom Cli­ment, Sam Curtin, Michael Gem­mell, Carol Hod­der, Roisín McGuigan, Jac­que­line O’Driscoll, Charlo Quain, Wes­ley Triggs and Sabine Weiss­bach.
